IOC refuses to deprive Besik Kudukhov of Games-2012 medal

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has stopped an investigation against the wrestler Besik Kudukhov, a native of South Ossetia, suspected of using doping, who perished in a road accident.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in August this year it became known that the doping test of Besik Kudukhov, who won the silver at the London Olympic Games-2012, proved to be positive. The deprivation him of his medal will desecrate the wrestler's memory, said Olympic Champion Soslan Ramonov and Khadjimurat Gatsalov.

The IOC President Thomas Bach has ordered to set up a Disciplinary Commission for considering the case. Its members have decided to terminate the inquiry against Besik Kudukhov, the Federation of Sport Wrestling of Russia (FSWR) reports.

"The IOC will not deprive the wrestler Besik Kudukhov of his silver medal won at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. The investigation of the case of the Russian wrestler, who died in a car accident in December 2013, has been stopped," says a statement posted today on the website of the FSWR.
