ICRF reports two wounded in shootout in Khasavyurt
On October 14, Yunus Yasiev, who earlier served as a magistrate judge in Khasavyurt, opened fire at four men, who approached his house, wounding two of them, law enforcement sources have reported, one of them adding that the men came to Yasiev "on the issue of his debts."
After the incident, the lawyer Sapiyat Magomedova, who is representing Yasiev's interests, said that fire was opened not by Yasiev, but the men, who broke into his house. According to her version, there were two attackers; and "both of them, allegedly, were policemen from the ChechenRepublic." Her client Yasiev is really associating the incident with the fact that the Chairman of the Khasavyurt District Court owes a large sum of money to his relative.
Magomedova has added that Yasiev shot from a rifle that belongs to him according to the law; and in his house investigators found a bullet fired from the firearm of one of the attackers.
"When they broke in, Yasiev was sick and in bed; but he acted faster and wounded one of the attackers, after which they ran away," the "Chernovik" quoted Magomedova as saying on October 14.
