Defence of Kurman-Ali Baichorov demands to start criminal proceeding against law enforcers

In the case against Kurman-Ali Baichorov, Imam of Kislovodsk, accused of illegal possession of drugs, the court has recorded the defence request for extension of the list of the law enforcers, who committed crimes in the Imam's case. This was reported by the advocate.

In January 2015, Kurman-Ali Baichorov was sentenced to 3.5 years of imprisonment in a penal colony on the charge of drug trafficking. He claimed that the drugs had been planted to him.

During the court hearing at the Stavropol Regional Court, the defence has attached to its earlier filed motion a request for the separation of materials against judges of the Predgorny District Court and the prosecutor and for the direction of the material for inspection to the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF), the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

According to advocate Alaudi Musaev, the Court has already dismissed the motion to summon to the courtroom for questioning Nikolai Zavyalikov, senior filed investigator of the own security department "Kavkaz" of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).

Besides, the defence has also requested to question key witness Nikolai Zavyalikov, who has initiated the prosecution against Kurman-Ali Baichorov and who now ignores the trial.
