Defence states too frequent punishments of Djemilev in colony

Since November 2015, Khaiser Djemilev has spent in total 210 days in the dungeon (known as ShIZO) of the Astrakhan colony, said Nikolai Polozov, the advocate of the son of Mustafa Djemilev, one of the leaders of the movement of Crimean Tatars.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 10, 2015, the Krasnodar Regional Court sentenced Khaiser Djemilev to 3.5 years of imprisonment for manslaughter of a friend of his family members, as well as for theft and possession of weapons. On February 25, the Soviet District Court of Astrakhan dismissed the Khaiser Djemilev's motion for conditional early relief (CER), and on April 28, the Court's decision was confirmed by the Astrakhan Regional Court. On September 30 the Sovietsky District Court of Astrakhan will consider a repeated petition on CER of Khaiser Djemilev.

Nikolai Polozov has reported today that his client "is back in the ShIZO."

"Today, September 29, is his last day of the punishment; and he should leave the ShIZO. During his stay in Astrakhan Colony No. 10, since November 15, 2015, he spent 210 days in the ShIZO. He regularly unfairly, in my opinion, punished," Mr Polozov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Earlier, somebody stole Khaiser's Ukrainian passport, without which it is impossible to make a proxy to represent him in court for removing penalties, the advocate said.
