Communists explain their failure at elections in three regions of Southern Russia by falsifications and use of administrative resource
On September 28, in Volgograd, members of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF), who headed the party list in the Volgograd and Astrakhan Regions and in the Republic of Kalmykia, held a press conference, during which they claimed massive falsifications at the recent elections to the State Duma.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the voting at the elections to the State Duma were held on the united voting day – September 18.
"They brought to polling stations some people for voting, and in some electoral districts, absentee ballots were given out in packs, in thousands of copies. The data in protocols completed by our observers and the data of the SAS (State Automated System) 'Elections' differ by 30-50 votes. And in a scale of the whole country, the difference turns into millions of votes. Cases of ballot box stuffing also took place, as well as mass early voting on absentee ballots," reported at the press conference Nikolai Arefiev, a deputy of the State Duma of the sixth and seventh convocations.
"Today, no party is able to cope with the administrative resource," said, in turn, Nikolai Parshin, the first secretary of the Stalingrad Regional Committee of the CPRF.
"Till present, we have not got the data from 15% of polling stations, where we sent our observers, and we did not get the copies of their protocols. Although we sent our observers to all 1540 precinct election commission (PECs)... We do not believe we are defeated. We treat the elections as illegitimate and undemocratic," stated Nikolai Parshin.
