Russian CEC allows early voting for pilgrims

People going for Hajj to Saudi Arabia will be able to vote at the elections earlier at a polling station in the city of Jeddah on September 13.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in this year, the quota for Hajj for Chechnya was 3000 people, and for Dagestan 6000 people. 1526 pilgrims left for Mecca from Chechnya, 520 from Ingushetia, and 210 from the Stavropol Territory. In total, according to Rushan Abbyasov, First Deputy Chairman of the Russian Council of Muftis, this year, about 15,500 Russian citizens go for Hajj.

In Russia, the elections of deputies to the State Duma of the seventh convocation are scheduled for September 18. On the same day, people will also vote at the election of the leader of Chechnya and the elections to the Chechen Parliament.

"Especially for the pilgrims from our country, the Central Election Commission (CEC) has organized a polling station in Jeddah. The procedure for early voting will be held there on September 13," reports a staff member of the Chechen Election Commission.
