Law enforcers release secretary of "United Abkhazia" Party

Irina Dochiya, the secretary of the political council of the "United Abkhazia" Party, who was kidnapped on July 2, returned home. This has been reported today by an official from the State Security Service of Abkhazia.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 2, Irina Dochiya, the secretary of the political council of the "United Abkhazia" Party, was kidnapped from her house in Sukhumi. The party leaders have suggested that the Irina Dochiya's kidnapping was not connected with her political activities.

On August 17, Irina Dochiya was released without ransom "as a result of joint actions of the Abkhazian and Russian secret services," reports today an official from the State Security Service of Abkhazia.

"Her health is not in danger. At present, Irina Dochiya is at home," the "TASS" quotes the source as reporting.

According to the Abkhazian State Security Service, the kidnappers demanded a ransom for the release of Irina Dochiya in the amount of 1.5 million euros.
