Visitors of Makhachkala gym released from police

All the visitors of the fitness gym "Premium" in Makhachkala, detained on August 15 during a raid conducted by power agents, have been released after filling in questionnaires and check of documents.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in the evening on August 15 in Makhachkala policemen detained more than 40 visitors of the "Premium" gym. A similar raid was first carried out on July 29. Then, one of power agents associated the raid with the fact that the gym was visited by a lot of people wearing beards (law enforcers treat it as one of the signs of Salafis, – note of the "Caucasian Knot").

During the yesterday's raid, policemen acted in the same way as when registering the Salafis, who attended local mosques, a brother of one of the detainees told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

"All were released; the practice was the same as during their regularly 'preventive' raids to mosques – they bring people to stations, keep there, collect information, and release in a few hours," he explained, adding that in a conversation with the detainees, law enforcers explained that they checked the gym, because "they need to know who goes there."
