Khizir Likhov thrice treated by law enforcers as killed, a source reports

Khizir Likhov, killed in Kabardino-Balkaria on August 14, was previously twice treated as killed in two special operations carried out in summer of 2015 and in January 2016. However, in both cases, it turned out after the identification that other men were killed. This was learned by the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent from a source of the Department for the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD) of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 14, the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC) announced the neutralization in Kabardino-Balkaria of one of the leaders of the armed underground. According to the NAC, the killed suspect was identified as Khizir Likhov, who was wanted since October of 2014.

The source from the MIA has noted that according to the Russian MIA, Khizir Likhov was treated as a member of the terrorist grouping, led by Robert Zankishiev, who was killed in 2015 in a special operation in Nalchik.

According to an official from the Russian MIA's Department for NCFD, Khizir Likhov was suspected of involvement in the killings of law enforcers committed in the republic since 2014.
