Son of KBR's judge detained after conflict with DPS inspectors

A son of one of the judges of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR), while being intoxicated, rendered resistance to employees of the road-and-post police (known as the DPS) and fractured a jaw of one of them, a law enforcement source has reported today.

According to the source, the incident occurred tonight on the Argudan-Alexandrovskaya highway in the Urvan District of the KBR. Policemen stopped a car, driven by a 35-year-old resident of Argudan, who is a son of Judge Sunshev from the Nalchik City Court.

The source has stated that the man was drunk and refused to undergo examination. With the help of an additional DPS unit, they managed to drag the man into the police car, but he tried again to escape and punched one of the policemen, breaking his jaw.

Over the past five years, the detainee violated the traffic rules for 34 times; he was detained twice for driving in the state of intoxication and was deprived his driving license for 1.5 years, the RIA "Novosti" reports citing its law enforcement source.
