In Karachay-Cherkessia, villagers complain about torture of their sons

Law enforcers have detained brothers Ruslan and Rasim Alborov from the village of Psyzh by falsifying evidence. They were tortured and forced to incriminate themselves. This was stated by the parents of the brothers in their complaint filed to the Prosecutor's Office and the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA). Members of the Public Monitoring Commission (PMC) are to visit the Alborov brothers and two others persons detained together with them.

On June 17, spouses Abubekir Alborov and Asiyat Alborova from the aul (village) of Psyzh of the Abaza District filed a complaint to Alexander Tereschenko, Prosecutor of Karachay-Cherkessia, and Kasimir Botashev, Minister of Internal Affairs of Karachay-Cherkessia. In their appeal, the parents of the detainees complained about torture used against their detained sons Ruslan and Rasim, born in 1981 and 1986, respectively. According to their parents, on June 1, Ruslan and Rasim were detained by law enforcers without any explanations.

"During the detention, brute force was used against them. Black plastic bags were put on their heads, and their hands were tied behind their backs. For a long time, they were forced to stay lying on wet ground. When they were in such a helpless state, arms were planted to their hands to imitate their fingerprints," state the Alborov parents in their complaint.

According to the Alborov spouses, on June 1 and 2, law enforcers used unlawful methods of treatment against Ruslan and Rasim.

On June 3, the court took the Alborov brothers in custody.

"They tortured Rasim with electric current and forced him to sign some documents. They threatened him to kill his parents and brother," the detainee's parents claim.

They emphasize that Ruslan suffers from epilepsy and that Rasim is diagnosed with cardiac defects.
