Magomed Magomedov arrested for 10 days

The court has pronounced the decision to take into custody Magomed Magomedov, the spokesman of a Makhachkala mosque, who is suspected of illegal possession of weapons and drugs. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by the detainee's relatives.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 11, the detention of Magomed Magomedov, the spokesman of the Salafi mosque located in Hungarian Fighters Street, was reported by mosque officials. They believe that law enforcers planted weapons to Magomed Magomedov during his detention. His defender was allowed to visit him only in a day after the detention. Advocate Shamil Isaev has reported that Magomed Magomedov pleads not guilty. According to the advocate, when interrogated, his client claimed that a grenade, ammunition, and drugs were planted on him during the detention.

On May 13, the Soviet District Court of Makhachkala considered the investigators' motion to pronounce the pre-trial restriction measure to Magomed Magomedov in the form of detention in custody, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by one of his relatives.

According to him, the Court has examined the arguments of the investigators and pronounced the decision to arrest Magomed Magomedov for 10 days prior to filing the indictment against him.

No official charge has been filed against Magomed Magomedov yet, and he is still in the status of the suspect, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by a staff member of the Soviet ROVD (District Interior Division) of Makhachkala.
