Police report on explosion inside bus in Yerevan

In Yerevan, an explosive device was activated inside a passenger bus. This was reported by the police. The law enforcement bodies are instructed to enhance the patrol-and-post service in the streets of the Armenian capital.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that at 9:51 p.m. of April 25 Yerevan time, an explosion occurred inside a bus in Alabyan Street in Yerevan. According to the Ministry for Emergencies (MfE), one person was killed, and six others were hospitalized with injuries, including three teenagers, two of whom were in severe condition, and one in satisfactory condition. Doctors assess the condition of other injured persons as of moderate severity.

According to Vladimir Gasparyan, Chief of the Armenian Police, an explosive device was activated inside the bus.

"The explosion was of wave nature, without fragments," reported Vladimir Gasparyan as quoted today at 0:32 a.m. Moscow time by the "Armenia Sputnik" with reference to the "Armenia" TV Channel.

After the explosion occurred inside the bus, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan have instructed the police to enhance the patrol-and-post service, the "Interfax" reports with reference to Vladimir Akopyan, Press Secretary of the Armenian President.
