Resident of Derbent reports about bomb explosion in house of IS militant

In Derbent, power agents destroyed an explosive device in the house of Abutdin Khanmagomedov, who had sworn to the "Islamic State" (IS) said one of townspeople.

The search, during which the explosive device was found, was conducted by power agents today in a house in Naneishvili Street, a local resident told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent on condition of anonymity.

"Residents of nearby houses were evacuated; and power agents destroyed the explosive device on the spot," he said.

According to the source, the house belonged to Abutdin Khanmagomedov, whom power agents believe as the person involved in the shelling in the area of Naryn-Kala.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in summer of 2015 a grouping led by Abutdin Khanmagomedov, according to power agents, swore allegiance to the IS. Militants of this grouping are suspected of committing an attack at night on December 30, 2015, on the Naryn-Kala Fortress, in which 12 people were wounded, and one of them died. Khanmagomedov was also known for involvement in the murder of the fortune-teller's family in the village of Rubas and in shelling fire-fighters near the village of Muzaim.
