Relatives of Murat Borlakov appeal to Putin for help

An appeal to President Vladimir Putin has been sent by the suffered party in the case of the death Murat Borlakov at the Ust-Djeguta ROVD (District Interior Division), as well as by the representative of the victims in the case of robbery and theft of cattle in the Stavropol Territory; the figurants in both cases are policemen of Ust-Djeguta.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on February 3, 2014, Murat Borlakov, a resident of the Karachay-Cherkessian Republic (KChR), with his two friends, was taken to the Ust-Djeguta ROVD. An hour after his detention, he died. The case of abuse of power and causing grievous bodily harm that led to one's death has been considered by the court since January 27, 2015. The figurants in the case are accused of a robbery and theft of cattle from farms in the Izobilnensky District of the Stavropol Territory.

According to Pavel Misharin, who represents the victims' interests, on February 5 he sent an appeal to President of Russia, in which he reports about mass crimes, concealing them by investigators; and that the victims have faced with the resistance of the judicial and supervisory bodies.

The appeal also notes that "at least eight police officers were really involved in Borlakov's murder."

Borlakov's father has added that "he has information about the pressure on the court; therefore he questions the objectivity of the investigation." "Karaketov and Batchaev claim that they have high-ranking relatives-patrons in the republic's Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA)," said Soltan Borlakov.

Mr Misharin believes that they have exhausted all legal remedies in the territory of Russia.
