Gusein Gamzatov elected head of Buynaksk

By majority of votes, the Deputies of the Buynaksk City Assembly elected Gusein Gamzatov, who had held the post before August 6, to be the Mayor of the city.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Gamzatov terminated his powers of the head of the city district – the chairman of the City Assembly of Deputies of Buynaksk, before term on August 6; after which a contest was announced for the position of the Mayor. As it became known today, the list of candidates included, apart from Gamzatov, Rasul Khanov, the acting head of the city, and Madina Ibragimova, the leader of the Dagestani branch of the Liberal-Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR).

Gusein Gamzatov was elected at today's extraordinary session of the City Assembly, the "Chernovik" reports.

Let us remind you that some residents of Buynaksk demanded to postpone the election of the Mayor from September 8 to a later date, after September 13, when the deputies of the District Assembly should be elected.
