Valery Permyakov's case transferred to Armenia

Under the earlier agreement with the Russian Federation, the case of Valery Permyakov, accused of desertion and massacring the Avetisyan family, has been handed over to Armenia.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 12 the court began the consideration the case of Valery Permyakov, a soldier of the 102nd Russian military base. He is accused of desertion and the murder of the Avetisyan family. The Russian Garrison Military Court, which held its session in Gyumri, on August 12 sentenced Permyakov on all points of the indictment.

"With the aim to attract Permyakov to criminal responsibility for killing seven citizens of the Republic of Armenia, the criminal case against him has been sent to the jurisdiction of the competent authorities of the Republic of Armenia, which will make their appropriate decision, on the basis of the agreement between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Armenia on the issues of jurisdiction and mutual legal assistance in cases involving the presence of Russian military base in the territory of the Republic of Armenia," says the press service of the ICRF, citing its official spokesman Vladimir Markin.
