At contest "Hero of Caucasus-2014", Artak Kirakosyan is chosen first among equals in Southern Caucasus

Readers of the "Caucasian Knot" have finished voting at the first stage of the contest "Hero of the Caucasus-2014" and elected the first among equals out of the candidates representing Southern Caucasus. In total, within 10 days, from July 1 to July 10, there were 15,686 votes for the laureates of the first stage of the contest "Hero of the Caucasus-2014" representing Southern Caucasus.

The winner of the contest is the 47-year-old Artak Kirakosyan from Armenia, who held a study on security in the border villages, which are exposed to fire. He won 24.05% of the total votes.

Readers of the "Caucasian Knot" gave the second place to the Azerbaijani rights defender Khalid Bagirov with 23.88% of the votes. He defended the well-known activists Gurban Mamedov, Leyla and Arif Yunus, Rasul Jafarov and others.

The third place went to Ruzanna Avakyan, a public figure of Nagorno-Karabakh, who won 22.43% of votes. Thanks to her, 17 families received social care help. In 2014, Ruzanna Avakyan organized, of her personal initiative, concerts for sick children, who needed treatment abroad.
