Journalist Timur Kuashev found dead in KBR

The Circassian activist and journalist Timur Kuashev who disappeared on July 31, was found dead on Friday, August 1, in a suburb of Nalchik, the capital of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR).

According to his friends, Kuashev disappeared in the evening on July 31; and his body was found at about 6:00 p.m. on the following day in the neighbourhood "Dolinsk," the journalist's relatives told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. His father, who visited the morgue of Nalchik, has already identified his son's body.

The body was found by employees of the Ministry for Emergencies (MfE) in the woods near the road. It had no signs of violence, according to the group of the magazine "Dosh" on the Facebook.

"We assume that Timur was taken away right from home in the evening, because he was in his domestic clothes and without a mobile phone, without which he almost never went out. The reason of his death should be defined by a forensic examination," the members of the above group wrote.
