President of Abkhazia upholds dismissal of CoM, General Public Prosecutor and heads of two districts

In Sukhumi, the capital of Abkhazia, a few thousand people took part in the anti-government rally demanding resignation of President Alexander Ankvab. After the rally, some of them started storming the building of the presidential administration.

Apart from resignation of the president, protesters demanded resignation of the government, the general public prosecutor and heads of administrations of three eastern districts of Abkhazia.

After a series of speeches, some of the protesters went to the building of the presidential administration, where a meeting of President Alexander Ankvab with the leaders of oppositional movements was taking place, the ITAR -TASS reports.

However, without waiting for the completion of negotiations, a group of protesters began storming the building – they smashed the windows and doors and broke inside, the "Interfax" reports.

During his talks with oppositionists, President Alexander Ankvab agreed to dismiss his Cabinet of Ministers (CoM), the general public prosecutor and heads of two districts, said Nugzar Ashuba, the Secretary of the Security Council of Abkhazia.
