Astrakhan Nationalists picket against Article 282 of the Russia's Criminal Code

The Movement "Russians of Astrakhan" has held a series of pickets against Article 282 of the Russia's Criminal Code (incitement of hatred or enmity and humiliation of human dignity), the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

On May 10, the pickets, coordinated with the authorities, took place in front of the Investigating Department (ID) for the Astrakhan Region of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF), in Lenin Square and in the Bratsk Mini-Park. Activists held posters "Art. 282 prohibits being Russian!", "Cancel Art. 282 for Russians!" and several others.

"Recently, Astrakhan has seen more sentencing under Article 282. Basically, of Russian, and only for their careless use on social networks of pictures and songs that are treated as extremist materials by the Russian legislation," Igor Stenin, the head of the "Russian of Astrakhan", told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
