Sochi Communists: authorities ignored us during May Day demonstration

During the May Day celebrations, Sochi officials ignored the column of Communists that moved at the very end of the march by stepping down the tribune before the arrival of the column and leaving it without greeting, city Communists assert. In his turn, the Sochi Mayor Anatoly Pakhomov says that the officials just did not notice the last column of the march.

According to the press service of the Sochi UVD (Interior Department), thousands of Sochi residents took part in the holiday march. The column of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation was the last in the procession; however, the city officials standing on the tribune, did not wait for it to pass, but went out into Kurortny Avenue in an organized manner and left.

The marchers expressed their indignation with the city authorities' behaviour and perceived it as an act of disrespect.
