MoJ of Adygea suspends activities of "EcoWatch" for six months

Since March 21, activities of the public organization "Ecological Watch for Northern Caucasus" (EcoWatch) are suspended in accordance with Article 42 of the Law "On Public Associations". This was reported by Bella Meretukova, the head of the Division for NGO Affairs of the Department of the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) for the Republic of Adygea.

The MoJ of Adygea has made such a decision in preparation for the planned inspection of the organization's activities after the revealed violation of the federal laws.

"The planned inspection itself did not take place because of the organization's failure to present the required documents. The 'EcoWatch' has been brought to administrative responsibility," the "Yuga.ru" quotes Bella Meretukova as saying.

According to the official from the Department of the MoJ for the Republic of Adygea, if the leaders of the "EcoWatch" ignore the MoJ's decision to suspend activities, the MoJ will have the right to go to court on liquidation of the public organization.
