Two persons killed by avalanche at "Roza Khutor" ski resort
On Sunday, in Sochi, the mountain ski resort "Roza Khutor" in Krasnaya Polyana was hit by an avalanche, which killed two persons.
The avalanche covered a group of six skiers, who were descended down the "Labyrinth" ski route. As a result, two women perished, said the regional branch of the Ministry for Emergencies (MfE).
The website of the Sochi Administration reports that the women born in 1968 and 1998 were residents of the Krasnodar Territory.
The avalanche went down onto a narrow and flat route section. Those who were moving there at the moment could get out of snow by their own or with the help of eyewitnesses and rescuers, but the casualties had chosen the site for a break; so, they were covered to the greater depth, the "Funsochi.ru" writes citing eyewitnesses of the incident.
