Tour operators: in spring, outflow of foreign tourists from Russia to reach 30% because of events in Ukraine

Foreign tourists began to abandon earlier paid tours in Russia in connection with the situation around Ukraine. This was reported by the Association of Tour Operators of the Russian Federation. After completion of the Paralympics, Sochi will attract new tourists with disabilities. This was reported by Anatoly Pakhomov, Mayor of the resort city.

Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" has reported on the opinion of experts in tourism business, who declared that in the new season, more than 90% of Russian tourists will choose other destinations instead of their planned vacations in Crimea. In particular, they will look at the resorts of the Krasnodar Territory.

For the time being, the outflow of foreign tourists is not widespread and is related to the closest dates of arrival April and May. Nevertheless, market participants predict that in spring, Russia will miss about 30% of tourists and businessmen coming to Russia for business purposes.

Experts of the Company "Akademservis" have also noted the decrease in foreigners' activity in the tourist services market. Meanwhile, they have called untenable the expectation that the situation will be improved by the exchange rate attractive for foreigners, since the Russian currency has markedly reduce its positions in relation to the world's major currencies.

Let us remind you that earlier, owners of private hotels and mini-hotels have admitted that after the start of the Olympic construction in Sochi, their businesses became unprofitable.
