Evkurov: Ingush houses that sheltered militants will be demolished

The Ingush authorities have decided to demolish the houses of the families, which sheltered militants, and confiscate their land plots, said Ingush President Yunus-Bek Evkurov.

At the emergency sitting of the antiterrorist committee held in the Sunzha District, the head of Ingushetia said that "it should be clear to everyone – if you let people into your house, you are responsible for them," the official website of the republic reports.

"We must not lose vigilance. For the edification of the people, who are compassionate with and help criminals, the houses that shelter bandits will be demolished," Mr Evkurov has warned.

Let us remind you that earlier, in May 2011, in his interview to the "Caucasian Knot", Evkurov spoke against the practice of destroying houses of those who helped militants or who were their relatives. "It is wrong to blow up or purposefully burn down houses," Evkurov said then and added that he found the strategy of dialogue more productive.
