Murderer of Armenian officer to receive scholarship

Nadyr Aliyev, an Azerbaijan businessman and leader of the Organization of National Unity, has decided to grant a scholarship to Ramil Safarov, the Azerbaijan officer who killed his Armenian colleague, Gurgen Margarian, in Budapest on February 19, 2004.

The first sum was given to Safarov's father on March 18. The scholarship will be given until Safarov is set free and finds a job. While granting the scholarship, the businessman said the Azerbaijan public was not active enough in protecting Safarov and did not use the incident "to expose the aggressive nature of the Dashnak separatists."
