Festival of documentary films about Chechnya postponed in Estonia

A festival of documentary films about Chechnya has been postponed in Estonia and a place of its holding has been changed, reported organizers of the action. The demonstration of films was designed for Saturday, March 20. A palace of culture was rented in advance in Narva for it. However the organizes were denied the apartment later without any explanations.

The direction of the palace of culture only told they had received recommendations from higher organs not to hold the festival, which had been explained by the uneasy situation in the world, particularly, by recent terrorist acts in Madrid. Nevertheless, the decision was made to conduct the festival but a week later, on March 27. The Narva Lutheran Parish gave its consent to grant room for it.

To remind, the festival is arranged by the organization Estonian War Memorial with the assistance of the Sakharov Public Center.
