A woman suspected of swindle with submitting Chernobyl cleanup veterans’ lawsuits arrested in Kabardino-Balkaria

Lera Alkhasova, ex-employee of the Ministry of Social Development and Labour, suspected of swindle with submitting Chernobyl cleanup veterans’ lawsuits was taken into custody in Kabardino-Balkaria.

In case if the suspect acknowledges herself guilty she may be sentenced to up to 6 years of imprisonment, web-site of the Department of Committee of Inquiry in Kabardino-Balkaria reports.

The ex-employee of the Ministry of Social Development and Labour was arrested on March, 22, “Interfax-Yug” referring to a source in law enforcement bodies of the republic reports. Before arrest she was busy with private legal activities, “Commersant” informs.

During the period from July, 2012, till February, 2013, judgments on 407 Chernobyl cleanup veterans’ cases all in all were recalled by Civil Chamber of the Supreme Court of KBR and awards of compensation for moral damage to them were acknowledged illegal, “Pravo.ru” reports.
