Representatives of UN and Abkhazian Foreign Ministry discuss rights situation in republic in context of Georgian-Abkhazian conflict

Foreign Minister of Abkhazia Sergey Shamba received Ivar Vikki and Irina Nezhinskaya, representatives of the UN Human Rights Office, on February 25.

Sergey Shamba drew the UN officials' attention to the "ambiguous attitude towards the problem of human rights observance in Abkhazia on the part of some international organizations."

Mr Samba noted that "the line declared by Abkhazia towards the building of the independent democratic state provides for human rights protection as well."
