Maria Sharapova wins silver at London Olympics

Today, the famous tennis player Maria Sharapova, a member of the delegation of the Krasnodar Territory within the Russian Olympic team in London, has won the Silver Medal in single tennis competition.

On August 2, Sharapova, who victoriously started her performance in London, entered a semi-final and defeated another Russian player Maria Kirilenko.

In the final match held at the All-England Lawn-Court Tennis Club (Wimbledon), Sharapova, seeded No. 3, lost to American lost to Serena Williams, seeded No. 4 – 0:6, 1:6, the RIA "Novosti" reports.

The match lasted for just over an hour, the "Sport.ru" reports.
