Ombudsman of Karachaevo-Cherkessia takes oath

Commissioner for Human Rights (ombudsman) in the Republic of Karachaevo-Cherkessia Vladimir Titarenko took the oath at a session of the republican National Assembly. He was elected for this post by the deputies on 5 December 2003. It should be mentioned that the office of the commissioner for human rights in Karachaevo-Cherkessia is equal to the office of the vice premier of the government. Before his election as commissioner, Vladimir Titarenko headed the Pushnoye animal farm, then the committee on legislation, legality and local government of the republican parliament. He even nominated for the post of the head of the Republic of Karachaevo-Cherkessia in 1999.
