Court leaves Pavlyuchenkov, accused of murdering Politkovskaya, in custody

The Basmanny Court of Moscow has extended the arrest of the former militia officers Dmitry Pavlyuchenkov, a defendant in the murder case of Anna Politkovskaya, the observer of the "Novaya Gazeta" newspaper.

"The court has satisfied the petition of the investigation to extend Pavlyuchenkov's arrest," the "Interfax" quotes Ekaterina Korotova, the press secretary of the Basmanny Court.

According to her story, the court has left Pavlyuchenkov behind bars until December 7, the "Echo Moskvy" reports.
