Young activists of ANC held an action of protest in Yerevan demanding to release Tigran Arakelyan

On September, 5, young activists of Armenian National Congress (ANC) organized a procession in the center of Yerevan in protection of activist Tigran Arakelyan who is currently in custody for accusation of hooliganism and using force against a representative of authority.

Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" reported that in the evening of August, 9, seven young activists of oppositional Armenian National Congress (ANC) were detained in the center of Yerevan. On August, 12, three activists were released on their own recognizance. On August, 19, the court decided to release three more activists. However, the motion of alteration of preventive punishment for Tigran Arakelyan was declined.

The procession of ANC on September, 5, in Yerevan started from the office of the Congress in Koriun street, then its participants marched along Mashtots avenue, Amiryan street, Square of Republic, Severny (Northern) avenue and up to Svobodi (Freedom) square.

According to the activists, similar processions will be regularly held until Tigran Arakelyan is released, "Novosti Armenia" reports.
