26-year-old woman hostage released in Chechnya

A 26-year-old Russian woman from Stavropol Territory, who was taken hostage more than ten months ago, was released in Chechnya on Sunday, the information and public relations department of the Chechen Interior Ministry informed on Monday.

The hostage, Oksana Bolshakova, was released in the course of the militia operation in the village of Shaami-Yurt.

The woman was kidnapped in February 2003 in Budyonnovsk , Stavropol Territory and then taken to Kizlyar, Dagestan. "Searches for the persons concerned in the kidnapping continue. There has been no information on the people detained yet," pointed out the spokeswoman for the Interior Ministry.
