Reconstruction of Baksan HPP in Kabardino-Balkaria will be over in 2.5 years

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed at the press service of the Kabardino-Balkarian Branch of the Open Joint-Stock Company (OJSC) "RusHydro" that the full reconstruction of the Baksan Hydroelectric Power Plant (HPP) in Kabardino-Balkaria will be carried out during 2-2.5 years.

Now, the HPP is under the round-the-clock 3-shift repairs, the press service spokesperson said and added that a video monitoring system will be installed to improve safety.

According to Magomet Beppaev, deputy dead of the construction directorate of the above "RusHydro", after the events at the Baksan HPP the security staff was increased, same as the height of the protection fence (with addition of barbed wire); additionally, special sliding automatic barriers will be installed at the entrances to the HPP.
