Explosion in Kaspiisk kills one and injures five

As a result of today's explosion in the city of Kaspiisk in Dagestan, one person was lost also five more wounded, as reported by the spokesman of the republic's MIA.

"The incident happened today at 02:15 a.m. Moscow time in the house No. 18 in Suleiman-Stalskiy Street," said a source in the MIA's press service. "Unidentified set on fire the door of the study of the inspector on minors' matters of the Kaspiisk OVD (Interior Division). When firemen and policemen arrived to the place, malefactors triggered a radio-controlled explosive item with power of up to 2 kilos in trotyl equivalent."

It was established that a self-made explosive device stuffed with striking elements was planted 2 meters away from the door, as Radio "Mayak" reports.

As a result of the explosion, a senior fireman of the fire-fighting unit of Kaspiisk died in place, while two more firemen, two militiamen and an occasional city dweller were wounded, the "Echo Moskvy" Radio reports.
