Georgiy Vashadze: the oldest woman lives in Georgia

Antisa Khvichava, a native of Sachire village, Tsalendzhikh District of Georgia, is 129 years old, and might be registered in the Guinness Book of World Records as the oldest resident of the planet.

According to Georgiy Vashadze, director of the agency of civil registry of the local Ministry of Justice, according to available documents, on July 8, 2010, Ms Khvichava will celebrate her 130th birthday.

She was born in 1880 and retired only in 1965.

"We plan to address our application to the respective committee of the Guinness Book of World Records to consider Antisa Khvichava's status of the oldest resident of the Earth," said Mr Vashadze on air of the "Rustavi-2" TV Company on March 8.

The FV channel presented a report showing how the long-liver was traditionally congratulated on the Eighth of March by her children, grandsons and great-grandsons.

The "Interfax" adds that Ms Khvichava, who is in full health, drank a full glass of wine offered to her.

As of today, as the "Georgia Online" reports, the oldest resident of the world is a woman from Japan in the age of 116.

Let us remind you that in July 2003 it was reported that the administration of Chechnya announced Zabani Khachukaeva, a resident of the district centre Achkhoy-Martan, to be the oldest resident of the planet. In 2003 she was 124.
