Kamalov: Kremlin doubts with candidates for Dagestan President

Hadjimurad Kamalov, a Dagestan political scientist and director of the LLC "Freedom of Speech", said in his conversation with the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that Moscow had not decided yet whom to support at the presidential election in Dagestan.

In Mr Kamalov's opinion, "to put it mildly, the right to promote was usurped by the General Council of the 'Edinaya Rossiya' (United Russia) Party." "It happened because the influential persons from the Kremlin pool had different opinions about candidates. Sergey Naryshkin (head of the administration of Russian President) was lobbying Magomed Abdullaev; Patrushev (secretary of the Russian Security Council) stood for Saigidhussein Magomedov; Gryzlov (speaker of the State Duma) supported, through mediation of Ahmed Bilalov (Dagestan businessman and former State Duma deputy, - comment of the "Caucasian Knot"), Magomed Magomedov; and Suleiman Kerimov (Senator at the Council of Federation and owner of the 'Nafta-Moskva' company) promoted Magomedsalam Magomedov with the help of super-influential politicians. None of them, I repeat, would have no chances to be presented to Dmitri Medvedev, should the promotion had taken place naturally, from the regional political council of the party-winner of the parliamentary elections," he said.

As reported by Hadjimurad Kamalov, the first warning arrived a month ago when the Dagestan President was persistently asked from the Kremlin to appoint Magomed Abdullaev to the post of Vice-Premier. "It became clear that other lobbyists will soon follow," he said.
