Moscow holds press conference on Maksharip Aushev's murder

Today, Moscow will host a press conference on the situation in Ingushetia after the recent Maksharip Aushev's murder with participation of Liudmila Alekseeva, head of the Moscow Helsinki Group, Musa Pliev, assistant to the President of Ingushetia, and Magomed Khazbiev, leader of the Ingush opposition.

Not only Russian federal but also many major foreign media have expressed their intention in the press conference, which will take place at the "Interfax" Agency.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed by Magomed Khazbiev, a close friend and a colleague of Maksharip Aushev, who was assassinated in Nalchik last Sunday, October 25, that so far, there is no new information as regards the murder.

"What sort of information could we expect, when the executioner is ordered to run the case of his victim?" asked Mr Khazbiev, who laid the blame for Aushev's murder on the Ingush authorities.

"You can imagine yourself - there are surveillance video cameras, which made recordings; we know that from our own sources; there were two cars, which were waiting near the road police post Kurb in the border with Kabardino-Balkaria from 6 in the morning. We asked for a copy of the video of all the cars, which were there and moved in both directions from 6 to 9 a.m., and you know what? They gave us a printout starting from 10 o'clock, that is, after Maksharip's murder. The y gave us no data from 6 to 9 in the morning," said the leader of the Ingush opposition.

According to Khazbiev, "Zyazikov's people" are in charge of video surveillance cameras, which should have fixed all the cars passing by that post. "One of them came onboard the plane and drove Magomed Evloev out of there; later Evloev was killed," Magomed Khazbiev said to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
