Self-made bomb neutralized on gas main in Dagestan

In the Kayakent District of Dagestan, near Bashlykent village, a large terror act on the gas pipeline Mozdok-Kazimagomed was prevented, as reported by the group of public relations of the Department for Dagestan of the FSB.

The security service detected, while touring the line, a suspicious object under the pipe of one of the air overpasses, which looked like a sort of a bomb. The FSB sappers called to the venue studied the finding and decided to drag it away from the pipe and blow up with a put-on mine.

The explosive looked like a 10-litre zinc-coated bucket filled with ammonia saltpeter and aluminium powder, provided with a detonator and timer fixed to 12:30 a.m. Moscow time. At 10:10, the detonator was neutralized, the ITAR-TASS reports.

"It was a non-shell fougasse with power of 5 kilos in trotyl equivalent," the "Interfax" was told by a source from the FSB Department for Dagestan.
