No Georgian-Abkhazian agreements reached at the five-sided meeting in Gale

On September 22, the participants of the regular five-sided meeting in the city of Gale (Abkhazia) discussed up to 10 various agenda points within the mechanism on prevention and reaction to incidents. The meeting lasted for about four hours, but no particular decisions were adopted. Both the Georgian and Abkhazian parties found the event fruitless.

The Georgian party was worried, in particular, about the issue of crossing by residents of the Gali District of the Abkhazian-Georgian border on the Inguri River; namely, the point was in study of Gali children in schools of the adjacent Zugdidi District of Georgia.

"In this context, we have unequivocally stated that if Gali children want to study in Zugdidi schools, let them move there to live," Ruslan Kishmariya, plenipotentiary envoy of President of Abkhazia in the Gali District, said to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. In his opinion, the Gali District has enough schools for local kids to get their education, and not worse that in Zugdidi.
