Entrepreneurs will be able to hold out only if they unite

The round table discussion "Administrative Barriers Preventing the Development of Small-Scale Enterprise in Krasnodar Territory" was held in the conference hall of the Krasnodarskiye Izvestiya newspaper on September 17, 2003. The discussion was organized by the Regional Public Organization "Society for Tax-Payers' Rights" and the Krasnodar Club of Civil Education.

The participants of the discussion were representatives of small-scale firms from different parts of the region, as well as activists of public organizations whose interests lie in the field of human rights defense and officials of power structures that control the businessmen's activity.

According to the data for the beginning of September 2003, a number of entrepreneurs engaged in the small-scale business reduced by 30%. Exactly the reasons of such a heavy situation were discussed at the round table, as a result of which the resolution "Administrative Barriers Preventing the Development of Small-Scale Enterprise in Krasnodar Territory" was adopted. This document enumerates the most painful points of the contiguity between small-scale enterprise and power structures, and proposes concreted measures for the protection of businessmen's interests both on the local and federal levels.
